Coloring the Way to Christmas

Coloring the Way to Christmas is a 40 page advent calendar and coloring book for kids! Created by artist Carolyn Hodges, this is a fun way that even the littlest ones can be involved in the journey through Advent.

Fuel their creativity by giving them a hands-on way to relate to the coming of Jesus! This time of year can be so busy that it's hard enough for adults to keep our minds at peace, and even harder for kids to think of anything but presents. This way, they can color a page a day and edify themselves as they do. Each page is complete with the date at the bottom (New Calendar and Old Calendar), as well as a description for why the image represented is the focus for the day. Some feature saints who are commemorated on that day, and many others are simple symbolic images like the candy cane, Christmas wreath, dove, and camel, to name a few. It's only a sentence or two, so not too wordy for littler ones, who can have an adult read the meaning before they color. Rather than the typical Santa and such, this coloring book provides a more meaningful direction to the coloring for the season!

The coloring skill level varies, so there's something for every age. Like a typical advent calendar, there are new images to discover each day, but this way, each child has their own and can transform the page to their own creative liking! A bonus is that if they forget to color a couple of times here and there, it's easy to catch up if they want, and all the images still apply after Christmas for the twelve days of the feast! Carolyn says,
”With our three sons, I love seeing how differently they each approach the pages! They take a lot of pride in making theirs unique!”
