“Akathist of Thanksgiving: Glory to God for all things.”

This incredibly beautiful prayer was penned by Metropolitan Tryphon in 1934 during a time of great persecution of the Church in Russia. The text was found in the personal belongings of Archpriest Grigoriy Petrov after his martyrdom in the gulag in 1942. Remembering the events surrounding the writing and considering the akathist being offered up in the midst of such suffering is profound. This booklet contains the full text of the akathist, with the translation to English graciously provided by St Tikhon’s Seminary Press (used with permission), paired with original watercolor illustrations by Marian Adams.

The cover is laminated for added durability, and the pages of the booklet are a textured heavy paper that is reminiscent of watercolor paper and designed to be durable for years of use. We hope and pray that this booklet provides encouragement to pray the Akathist of Thanksgiving and an opportunity to see God’s grace everywhere we turn. This akathist is often prayed on Thanksgiving, and whenever else you want to turn to God in gratitude.
